The PADI instructor Development Course is made up of two main parts the Assistant Instructor Course (AI) and the Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI). With your Course Director’s agreement and in completing the AI and OWSI courses to the required standard gains you entry into the PADI Instructor Examination (IE).
The Courses
AI Course Requirements
- 18 years old
- Certified to PADI Divemaster or equivalent and have completed the PADI Divemaster Rescue Skills Assesment
- Dive Fitness Certification
- EFR Primary & Secondary Care Course
- Documentation of any other agency leadership level certifications.
IDC Course Requirements
- 18 years old
- Certified to PADI Divemaster or an eligible Instructor with another agency or leadership-level certification (with 60 dives including night / deep and navigation). If not a PADI Divemaster must have completed the PADI Divemaster Rescue Skills Assesment
- Dive Fitness Certification
- Certified Diver for 6 Months
- EFR Primary & Secondary Care course (or equivalent) within last 2 years
- Documentation of any other agency leadership level certifications.
IDC Course
- Consists of AI and OWSI Courses
- Recommended r minimum of 7 days (normally this course is over 10 days)
E-Learning
- Complete independent study Knowledge Reviews PRIOR to the course
