New Caribbean PADI IDC – Dominican Republic

PADI Course Director Gianluca Lamberti at Coral Point Diving in the Dominican Republic is looking forward to your enquiry about PADI IDC or professional level courses.

A message from Gianluca if you are considering doing your IDC in the Caribbean with him.

We will be happy to help you with any questions you may have regarding doing your DM internship/ PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). I’m a PADI Course Director and the resident Marine Biologist for Coral Point Diving and supervise all of our recreational diving activities. We are also committed to environmental research, education and awareness. We are a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Dive Resort and we are also committed to environmental research, education and awareness. As part of our continued commitment to protect our delicate marine environment, we donate 5% of our net profit each year to support environmental conservation activities.

We are located at Bayahibe, Dominican Republic nowhere else on the island you will be able to find such ideal conditions to practice your scuba skills and start your Professional Adventure. Our diving here is comprised of amazing reef systems and beautiful wrecks. The visibility here averages 20-30 mt and water temp averages 26-28C. One of my most important duties here at Coral Point Diving is to help potential professional candidates such as yourself get all the information they need in order to make a positive, well-informed decision about where to undertake their training.

Our IDC Guide page and our website will give you an overall idea on what we offer on a GoPro level which is an important for you while you make a decision on who to be committed to for your training.

A guide price for our IDC programs in the Dominican Republic (IDC price is USD 1200) correct as of June 2014 and includes

IDC
2 Instructor Specialties
EFR Instructor Course
any other Instructor Specilaty costs USD 50

and free diving while here to practice you skills. IDC training takes 2 weeks.

I am not including and they have to be counted separately: PADI taxes (around USD 850 for the IE and US 56 each Instructor Specialty, to be paid directly to PADI by credit card) accommodation (USD 190-290 per month depending on the type of accommodation you choose). With regards for accommodation you will be assisted by us in finding something suitable your needs and can be even booked prior your arrival.

During your time with us you will learn to be a dive guide and teaching assistant. You will also learn how to interact with clients and students as well as various aspects of sales, customer services, equipment maintenance and obviously diving lots!

In order to start the IDC you need to have the following PADI materials: IDC candidate crew pack. You can purchase it with Coral Point Diving for $560 or coming with your own material.  I appreciate these materials are expensive but it is important to have them as you will use them throughout your teaching career.

In closing, I am in the business of helping dive professionals develop into prosperous and active members of the dive industry. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about our programs. Please don’t hesitate to send me any questions you have as a few years ago, I was on your side of this conversation.
